Q: How do I know what I will get in my new home?
A: Every aspect of your new home; from time to build, cost, materials used, and allowances given is spelled out in detail in the contract.
Q: What happens if we make changes during the construction of our home?
A: Due to our lengthy development process few changes have been made to homes we have built. However, if a change does need to be made the cost for the change will be due before the change is made.
Q: How do we select the finishes in our new home?
A: As part of the TaylorMade contract you will receive selection sheets. The master sheet has a time line for all of your selections. Each individual sheet has what to select (tile, marble, brick, etc.), where to select it, who to talk to, and what your allowance is for that item.
Q: What is the price per square foot?
A: This question
gets asked more than any other and it is the most difficult to answer.
What people need to understand is that the price per square foot caries based
on the
items you select for your home and, most importantly, the specific design
of your home.
The size of foundation and complexity of your roof are major cost factors.
One-story
or ranch designs are more per square foot because of larger foundations and
larger roofs.
Plans with more square footage on the first floor and less square footage
on the 2nd
floor are more expensive for the same reason. Exterior variables affecting
the cost can
be items such as brick, vinyl siding, wood siding, stone, stucco, columns,
shutters,
porches, landscaping, decks, etc. Interior features such as laminate, sold
surfaces, granite,
vinyl flooring, ceramic tile, hardwood flooring, plumbing fixtures, cabinets,
etc. all affect
the square foot price. Once we know your selections we can better determine
the price
of your home and then we can determine the exact price of your home.
Q: What happens after we move in the home?
A: TaylorMade Homes strives to provide the best possible service before and after the sale. Before you close on your home a Prohome representative will do an orientation/punch list walk through with you. The day before you close they will do a final walk through to assure that all punch list items have been addressed. Prohome will be your 24 hour emergency contact and will also do 1 month and 11 month punch lists. Also, a ten year structural warranty is provided through Bonded Builders.
